Reporting live from the Monaco Yacht Show website
I’ll bet the weather is beautiful this week for the Monaco Yacht Show. Too bad I’m in Texas at the moment. The website music really takes me there. You can get some of the custom boats for $50 million to $100 million. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to buy three at those prices. Maybe the shark at Lending Tree can broker some low-rate mortgages for me. According to Advertising Age (temporary open link), you’ll pay up to 10% annually for fuel, crew, maintenance, and sustenance. In a video link on the Advertising Age link, Diane Byrne, of Power and Motoryacht magazine, talks about how this is the premier event for the 80-foot-plus yachts and how yacht sales have been up over the past ten years.
Yachts are totally beautiful and amazing, but one has to wonder if they are not an excessive tax on the earth’s resources.
