War in the paradise of the Pacific Northwest
When discussing regions of war, we often don’t think first of the Northwest — the area roughly delineated by British Columbia to Wyoming and across to Northern California. Andrew Wagenhoffer has a review here of the book Fighting for Paradise: A Military History of the Pacific Northwest by Kurt R. Nielsen.
Wagenhoffer says that this book is "the first comprehensive treatment…that begins with the first white exploreres and ends at World War II. He also says that "Fighting for Paradise should be regarded as a very useful reference work. Undoubtedly, I will consult it frequently."
I’m not sure about the title of the book, but don’t let that stop you from what might be a really interesting piece of work. It will probably be of interest to war history buffs. Here’s the link to the review again and here’s one to the book’s publisher.
