“Welcome to Paradise” ~ a spiritually defunct town
A 2006 feel-good, faith-based film called “Welcome to Paradise” will be released on DVD in early October. It stars Crystal Bernard, of Wings fame, and Brian Dennehy. The premise of the movie is that a pastor from the big city is called to move to the small town of “Paradise” (yes, there are around seven of them in the States). SHE (yes, her gender is apparently part of the plot) finds a complacent group, but manages to pull them together into some sort of community.
All other stereotypes aside, they could have found a name for the film that would better represent what it’s about. I’m personally not aware of any towns named Paradise that are evenly mildly defunct of spirit or community.
