Palm trees after the destruction ~ Bush visits 2007 California fires on cover of The New York Times

On Friday, October 26, 2007, The New York Times ran a photo of President Bush walking through some of the destruction from the fires.  In the background are two scorched palm trees:

Seeing one of the symbols of Southern California in disarray like this still provides a powerful image with a link to place — sort of.  This photo looks like it could have also been taken in an eastern Mediterranean nation after a bombing or other attack.
