Academy of Dreams ~ A good Zune commercial!
Still hunting for a good Zune ad after this post and this post, I finally found one. And it only has one tropical island in it:
We will let them get away with using The Shins album on the Zune, which contains palm-tree parasites on mega-microorganisms:
It’s called Academy of Dreams, and you can watch it below. The song used is called "Sleeping Lessons" from The Shins’ Wincing the Night Away album. The idea of the many copies of the guy comes from the song’s lyrics: "a thousand different versions of yourself."
The best part of the ad visually is when the guy climbs up a staircase of a "thousand different versions" of himself and jumps off into a net (a .NET?).
When he hits the net, he splits up into a, I assume, a thousand different pixels, or voxels rather, of himself.
These voxels spontaneously arrange themselves into a video still of an ice cream. Could this be a picture worth a thousand words?
Later the ad zooms out to show us that it’s a video that the guy is watching on his Zune on the city bus.
YES! Thank you. Creativity. Here’s the full commercial courtesy of ipermedia on YouTube:
