Dubai Air Show features an aerobatic palm tree

Dubai’s Air Show, which opened this week, is quite a site…and a sound.  I was in Dubai several years ago and had forgotten that it was taking place.  The sound of the jets scared the living **** out of me.  The show has grown since then and features new acts.

One of the featured aerobatic routines this week was a smoky trail of a palm tree.  Read about it here.  Also, please send links to the email address on the right if you find any pictures of the palm treee.  I haven’t been able to find it.

Also, apparently the Airbus is selling a few of its dolphin planes, with opening orders of $50 billion towering over Boeing in the the opening days according to Market Watch.  The A380 is being chosen by the Emiratis over the expanding Boeing 747.

Bigger might always be better in Dubai.  In fact, in the article they say that they’re building a six-runway airport in Dubai, compared to Heathrow’s two.  Yes, that’s big.
