Volvo C30 with ‘Sport Equipment Holders’
If you’re waiting for the Volvo surf vehicle to emerge from concept, you may be looking for a great car that won’t break you as you save up for the mothership. The Volvo C30 is one of the hottest "entry-level" sports coupes to come into the market in recent years. It seems that every detail has been thoroughly thought through, especially those for some of your beach gear (click to enlarge):
These are the are the holders available: Ski holder; Ski holder, diagonal; Ski/snowboard holder, aluminum; Ski/snowboard holder, sliding; Snowboard holder; Windsurfing board holder; and a Canoe and kayak holder.
The car starts at $22,700 (compared to the Volkswagen GTIMkV at $22,730), and here are some specs:
1) Turbocharged 5-Cylinder Engine
2) Horsepower 227 @ 5,000 RPM; Torque 236 @ 1,500-4,800 RPM
3) 6-Speed Manual Transmission and Optional 5-Speed Automatic with Geartronic
4) 17" Mestra Alloy Wheels
5) 160-Watt, 8-Speaker Audio System, AUX Audio Input
6) MP3 Compatible In-Dash Single CD
7) Leather Steering Wheel and Gear Shift Knob
Polished Exhaust End Pipes
If you’re comparing getting this over a Volkswagen GTI, go for the Volvo, especially if you’re not a 24-year-old hipster. Here’s the GTI’s specs page if you want to know some of the reasons why I recommend the Volvo. Actually, there’s really no contest. The Volvo is far superior overall, even though admittedly there are some aspects of the GTI that you won’t persuade diehards to leave. Pricing for both is similar, so why would you want people to mistake your ‘performance" sports car with a Rabbit?
