First shark attack in 70 years on famous Australian beach (somewhat graphic pic)
According to various articles, Bondi ("bond eye") Beach in Sydney’s east saw its first shark attack in 70 years. The victim’s name was Scott Wright, a 34-year-old tourist from Tasmania (who was supposedly living in a cliff cave according to TVNZ). The shark apparently couldn’t have been very large; otherwise, Wright would have at least lost his arm.
This is the same famous beach that we featured in the Bikinis from Space post earlier this month. There are nets to keep the sharks from getting too close.
Here are a few article links to the story: Sydney Morning Herald/The Sun-Herald, News.com.au 1, TVNZ.co.nz, News.com.au 2, and Bangkok Post. The first is the most informative and contains the full photo shown above by Channel Ten in Sydney.
