WSJ: Whose Beach Is It Anyway?

As the beach recedes into the properties of people with homes along the Texas Gulf Coast, the state is upsetting residents by telling them to get out of the public right of way on the beach.  Read about it here (with video).

The water at Surfside Beach has come up 200 feet since the early 80s according to the article.  From the video: "There are septic tanks all over the beach."

Seawalls and dredging are killing our beaches, folks.
