MSNBC: Dolphins save surfer from shark ~ 500 stitches later

MSNBC is reporting that a pod of dolphins saved surfer Todd Endris from a great white shark attack on August 28th.  Read it here or click on the image for the newscast.

Heroes Star Hayden Panettiere breaks down over the killing of baby dolphins

Click on the still above to watch a graphic newscast of a very controversial annual dolphin killing tradition in Japan.  Hayden Panettiere was one of the surfer protesters who went to try to stop this year’s slaughter.  She broke down talking about the experience.  Each year the tradition gains more attention.

CNN: Pool saves couple from California fires

A couple in Southern California sat in the deep end of their pool for three hours as their lives burned around them.  Watch the video here.  This survival method is a last resort; this couple had no prior warning that the fires were coming.  Don’t try it at home if you can avoid it.

Texans scramble to rebuild eroding beaches ~ maybe they should start with removing seawalls
