Jumping the fashion shark

Sorry for the post drought.  I am on the second of two trips and also remodeling a small 200-year-old house.  I have been collecting as much as ever, and more posts are on their way.

Margaritas that bite ~ Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings shows that there’s more than one way to slice a lime:

Roy Richard Scheider of Jaws fame dead at 75

Roy Scheider passed away in Arkansas on February 10, 2008.  The news rocketed up to "volcanic" status on Google Trends.  He is best known for his role as Amity Police Chief Martin Brody in Jaws.  He also played Captain Nathan Bridger in SeaQuest DSV.

"Team Obama refers to the Clinton campaign as ‘Jaws’…"

Maureen Dowd, in an article called "There Will Be Blood" at The New York Times, has this juicy little quote: "Team Obama refers to the Clinton campaign as ‘Jaws’ because ‘just when things are quiet, they keep trying to come back and capsize the boat’."  It’s worth a read.

According to this Telegraph article, "Parthenogenesis, where an egg starts to [...]

First shark attack in 70 years on famous Australian beach (somewhat graphic pic)

According to various articles, Bondi ("bond eye") Beach in Sydney’s east saw its first shark attack in 70 years.  The victim’s name was Scott Wright, a 34-year-old tourist from Tasmania (who was supposedly living in a cliff cave according to TVNZ).  The shark apparently couldn’t have been very large; otherwise, Wright would have at least [...]
